Sarah watches TV

I started watching Lost last week and I'm hooked! I knew I would be. That's the whole reason I stayed as far away from it as possible when it was on the air. Cut to me, several years later with Netflix and a lot of spare time... I'm on Season 4 and I'm pretty sure Jake and Trey are sick of it, but whatev.

I found a bar down the road from our apartment that has a Mad Men party on Sunday nights. Jake and I went for the premiere and drank Mai Tai's and Old Fashions. One of the things I really miss about college was the communal atmosphere. We would gather around on certain nights of the week in the dorms and watch tv together. Being in that bar with a couple hundred fans of the show made me feel a little more at home in a city where I don't know very many people.

I'm constantly trying to find a job here. I've had a few nibbles and one interview, but nothing has panned out. With Jake and Trey working I have a lot of free time to myself. And until I'm ready to venture out on my own here, I'll let tv be my companion.

When I finish Lost, I plan to start writing again. It's been far too long and I'm way out of practice. I'm hoping this blog will get me back in the habit.

Sarah's First Business Cards

Alright you guys,

I finally broke down and ordered some business cards. I know, I know. I worked in the Staples print shop for a whole year! I could have easily printed my own any time. I just never did because I made business cards all day there and the quality of their paper was nonexistent.

After some Googling, I found a great site called Moo. They have quality paper and so many design options to make the right cards for me.

Mine came in the mail today and I LOVE THEM!

Here they are!!! Front and back! Ready to take on the world.

Sarah gets response from potential employer

You guys. Someone posting jobs in The Reader actually responded to my reply to their job ad....

No joke, the ad is for stage assistants for a touring cat show. That's right. They teach cats to do tricks and go on tour. Crossing my fingers for an interview. WHAT IS MY LIFE?

One Week In...

After months of anticipation, I've finally relocated to Chicago. I'm starting a new life with my boyfriend (and his roommate Trey) and my career back at square one.

Last week after Doomsday Bunkers wrapped, I packed as much as I could into a few bags and booked a one way ticket leading North and never looked back. I haven't been this happy since last summer in OKC.

I'm one week into my journey, $1000 in the hole, without most of my major necessities (mainly my cookware), and have sent my resume to anyone asking for help. I'll keep you posted.

Until next time,
This has been Sarah in Chicago.
